which she flippantly yelled her number back at him thinking he wouldn’t call. But he did. I was born and raised in Bismarck.

I grew up in a ‘real estate’ family so it’s in my blood. Our 3 boys are now 19 (triplets, another story) and off to college. My husband

and I are avid outdoors people and to breathe in the lake air off the deck of our lake cabin on Sakakawea is incomparable! I love reading any kind of mystery and crime novels. My pets are an extension of who I am and I surround myself with both dogs and cats. Having pets teaches you about life and death and true unconditional love.  Chase, our lab, passed on last fall and I considered him my son. I grieve for him every day.

So what’s my why?

As I said it’s in my blood. But when it comes down to it, I just plain love people! I dig their stories, history, and their “whys”. I want to help get them to where they dream to go. Becoming a REALTOR® was nothing like I thought it would be. More than anything it requires persistence, finesse, and empathy.

It requires an inner fire to keep going despite challenges. There is truly nothing like the feeling I get when I hand the keys over to a new homeowner!

Or congratulate a client on the sale of their home so they can move to Minnesota. I also sit on the Advisory Board at the Salvation Army which is the 2nd best thing that has happened to me recently. Working towards the same mission I have gained friends, the key is helping others.

I didn’t know when I chose Century 21 Morrison that it was going to change the trajectory of my life. When you align your values and principles with the right tribe they become family. So there you have it, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Kathy Wagner Realtor Century 21 MorrisonAn ordinary life….becomes EXTRAORDINARY!!  That’s how I feel as every day passes by. I am fortunate to be a mom of four who’ve grown up to be amazing people and even more importantly given me 12 grandchildren! When my children were growing up, I became involved in the community and for 8 years was an elected official for the Mandan Park District. While attending a t-ball game I remember a little boy batting right-handed, it was clear someone just needed to turn him around as he was a left-handed batter, I got up and did just that. Many years of involvement in sports, playing women’s Softball and Volleyball for over 40 years, local volunteer and church work and many years of “sharing” my opinion has been a rewarding experience.

Why Real Estate?

As time went by and my kids grew, I entered the workforce on an 8 to 5 basis and found that it just wasn’t me. Having been around the construction business since I was 18 and my husband being a contractor, it only made sense that I would enter the real estate business. Very quickly I found that it was just my niche!  I am a Gemini you know…

The challenge of working with both buyers and sellers while resolving differences and concerns is what I love to do. Working with my clients they know that real estate should not be looked at as a competition, but a compromise.  There is “no perfect” house. What’s perfect for one person, may not be perfect for the next. Every real estate transaction involves emotions; for so many reasons, and we all know how easy it is to deal with an emotional decision! Right?

What does it take?

When getting started in real estate, cell phones and computers were just climbing the charts. I still remember listing houses, taking pictures and running the “film” to Osco Drug for double prints.  Only to bring them back to the office and paste them on my flyers… it’s crazy to imagine doing that in this day and age.  But, all those years of experience, have made me extremely knowledgeable about what real estate is and what it takes to get the job done.
