Michele’s passion for defying mediocrity and delivering extraordinary experiences has made her this week’s Relentless Agent.
Michele Hernandez:
About Me
C21: Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Michele: A teacher!
C21: If we went to happy hour, what would you order?
Michele: A Mexican Cousin martini at the Toasted Frog accompanied by fried cheesy pickles.
C21: What do you want to make sure you do before you die?
Michele: Fly on a commercial airline and see the ocean! Can you believe I am 32 and have never done either of those?!
C21: Tell me three pet peeves.
Michele: Decaf coffee. The drop off line at my sons school. Mismatched socks!
C21: Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
Michele: I can sing like there’s no tomorrow in my car, shower, and whilst cleaning my house.
C21: What would be your personal motto?
Michele: Let’s just go with the intro song to the TV show Friends =)
Family
C21: Who is someone you admire, and why?
Michele: There are several people in my life that I admire. If you are a close friend or relative of mine, you are admired!
Top two are my mom and my son. My mom because she has overcome, persevered, and succeeded in her life. She has taught me so much just by being who she is. I am proud when people tell me I am just like her!
My son because he is pure, honest, and has a heart for Jesus. He makes good decisions and cares deeply for people and animals alike. He wears his heart on his sleeve and goes forth with love.
C21: If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be?
Michele: RIGHT WHERE I AM! At home with my son relaxing on a Sunday evening. I am quite the homebody!
C21: What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Michele: I love being with my family. My son, brother, sister, niece and nephew live here and I love being with them as much as I can. Doesn’t matter what we are doing just as long as I get to be with them =)
Professional Life
C21: What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
Michele: I care! I spent 7.5 years working as a med aid at a nursing home. Caring for people is what I do. When it comes to real estate I genuinely care about my clients and sincerely want what’s best for them. I will move mountains to make my clients happy.
C21: Name three words that you describe you.
Michele: People have told me I’m sassy, (is that a good thing?) witty, and a leader.
C21: Why do you love Bismarck/North Dakota?
Michele: What’s not to love? I think it is absolutely beautiful here. This is a great place to raise a family. It’s clean and safe. I’m from Kansas so the accents here are catchy! Most importantly this place is filled with so many great people. I’m lucky enough to call some of those people my friends.
C21: What is your favorite thing about real estate?
Michele: Getting to take care of people during a transaction. Getting to the finish line and getting to see people obtain their dream home to start making memories. Getting to be part of a stepping stone in people’s lives. My favorite thing to do in life is to see people succeed. If I am able to help with that, I too, have succeeded.

Kathy Wagner:
An ordinary life….becomes EXTRAORDINARY!! That’s how I feel as every day passes by. I am fortunate to be a mom of four who’ve grown up to be amazing people and even more importantly given me 12 grandchildren! When my children were growing up, I became involved in the community and for 8 years was an elected official for the Mandan Park District. While attending a t-ball game I remember a little boy batting right-handed, it was clear someone just needed to turn him around as he was a left-handed batter, I got up and did just that. Many years of involvement in sports, playing women’s Softball and Volleyball for over 40 years, local volunteer and church work and many years of “sharing” my opinion has been a rewarding experience.
Why Real Estate?
As time went by and my kids grew, I entered the workforce on an 8 to 5 basis and found that it just wasn’t me. Having been around the construction business since I was 18 and my husband being a contractor, it only made sense that I would enter the real estate business. Very quickly I found that it was just my niche! I am a Gemini you know…
The Challenge.
The challenge of working with both buyers and sellers while resolving differences and concerns is what I love to do. Working with my clients they know that real estate should not be looked at as a competition, but a compromise. There is “no perfect” house. What’s perfect for one person, may not be perfect for the next. Every real estate transaction involves emotions; for so many reasons, and we all know how easy it is to deal with an emotional decision! Right?
What does it take?
When getting started in real estate, cell phones and computers were just climbing the charts. I still remember listing houses, taking pictures and running the “film” to Osco Drug for double prints. Only to bring them back to the office and paste them on my flyers… it’s crazy to imagine doing that in this day and age. But, all those years of experience, have made me extremely knowledgeable about what real estate is and what it takes to get the job done. As a REALTOR®, my job changes people’s lives every day. It is extremely cha
llenging, but I love it!
